The Door

You are presented a door that can be opened to permit your access to a desirable way of being. You stand on the threshold of that doorway through which you see your future. On the distant horizon is the meaning of life. You want to live your life fulfilled, with passion. In this very moment, you step through that doorway into the Immediate. You are in action; in charge of your destiny. The path begins.

The Door course attendees form the Collegium that encourages each participant to explore and discover their individually unique intuitive understanding of the meaning of their life. The Collegium is committed to championing youth participants (age 15 through 18) to create projects of significance within their community that are aligned with their special talents and embraces their chosen destiny.

Guiding principles are introduced that establish core values of character which will help deflect future adversities and offer impelling opportunities. These participants develop a Vista, a quest for an integrated grasp of individual authenticity and relationships - a life of action focused upon a comprehension of ultimate reality.

Participants gain foresight and learn to stand firm on what they believe and know. They learn to use the time when not at school to develop their purpose driven life through continuous life-long learning and to foster meaningful relationships. Participants become aware of what they can become.

The Door presenters are experts with a unique perspective on how to establish individual talents. They walk their talk. Their life displays their handy work; and thereby creates a vision of opportunity that the participants most likely have not imagined for themselves.

The presenters show evidence in the myriad of physical objects they have created and the structure they have placed in their lives to insure the time allotment to those activities they find most rewarding. As an example, a presenter might be a nationally renowned botanist, an industrial engineer who actually makes lightning or an extraordinary artist who creates unique pottery - always a person who exudes creativeness.

The message to the participants is you are a person with unique talents, find your interest, explore why you find it interesting, use your reasoning ability to gain the knowledge and confidence to create what your mind's eye imagines.

Sessions are semi-formal 90 minute lectures with periodic intermittent questioning by participants. This format demonstrates the presenter's zest for life manifested in their pursuit of their individual interests and talents.

The Door provides a breakthrough in the technology of living powerfully, living effectively, living an extraordinary life. It is a penetrating, challenging, and practical inquiry into the issues at the heart of our lives - communication (peace), relationships (love) and happiness (joy). It results in an extraordinary advancement in performance, creativity, and self-expression. Being in the doorway breaks through the confines of even the best of conventional modes of thinking. The participant is able to leave the past in the past, to step beyond the limits they have placed upon their identity, and to move into a future mapped by the opportunity clearly before them. Breakthroughs, instead of being random or inexplicable accidents, become something participants cause to happen in their lives.

• The Door is three consecutive all-day seminars
       (meets 8 am - 8 pm; break for lunch)
• The MAP is a four consecutive day workshop
       (meets 8 am - 4 pm; break for lunch)
• The Table is a four month course
       (meets no less than 1 hour every week)

Vista Collegium functions outside the regular hours of school attendance. Vista enhances traditional modes of education without infringing upon or causing a distraction.
